The city holds its breath. Bells fall silent, markets cease, even the sea seems to freeze its rhythm. A judgment awaits: the execution of a student suspected of carrying the legacy of the demon.

But who is this boy?

He comes from a remote desert village, hidden from the world. A quiet observer, more familiar with the pages of old books than with the voices of his peers. Raised by his aunt, while his mother-herself a servant of the goddess Thal'ra-regards him as a stranger.

On his seventeenth birthday, the great festival begins. And for the first time in years, he speaks again with Elyra. She lives in the village like he does, yet comes from beyond its borders. A foreigner, and yet familiar. Between them something stirs that surprises them both:

an unexpected closeness.

But as the celebrations unfold, one figure remains missing: Zaire's teacher, his master since childhood. No one knows where he has gone. And as the absence of his presence grows heavier, two figures in white cloaks draw near. They carry prisoners whose very sight raises questions.
