Rye always wondered why he was different, it didn't seem like he belonged in any group and everybody else knew where they belonged. So he used lies, fake laughter and excessive porn to cover up. Blending in with friends and pretending to be who he isn't became the order of the day. Well, until he met Evan, the boy with bruises. He couldn't understand why he always shrunk 2 feet smaller whenever his eyes met with Evan. Why Evan was suddenly everywhere and why he laughed uncontrollably and didn't lie once in his presence. It felt like the love books and movies talked about, but it couldn't be because he wasn't gay. Gay was nails, colors and pencil jeans and he was none of that. Tried as much as he wanted but he couldn't stop the pull to Evan and what he wanted to clothe under the umbrella of friendship quickly blossomed into something else. Never had Rye seen himself putting his life on the line for someone... Well, meet Evan.

Guy looked at me with a serious expression on his face, "You know James, it seems to me like you might have a crush on me." I immediately got defensive, "Shut up." ----------------------------------- James is the nerd of the school, focused on becoming a doctor. Guy is hard on the outside but soft on the inside, aiming to become a musician. The two make the best of friends but when Guy comes back from holiday, he begins to see them as more than that. Throw in a crumbling friend group, the messy divorce of James's parents and an opportunity for Guy to gain a scholarship to music school and the boys find their lives turning upside down. Will they pull through, or fall apart?
