The elders say the forest remembers every footstep that has ever trespassed upon its hush. But on the night she returned, even the trees forgot how to breathe.

From the shadow between the banyan roots, she emerged; barefoot, unbound, and impossibly alive.

The dagger was still lodged deep in her heart. Not a drop of blood stained the blade. Not a tremor touched her breath.

For she was born of two forbidden lineages: yakshi by curse, witch by blood. A union the gods never permitted, and the mortals never survived.

And tonight, as the valley stirred with whispers of a long-buried prophecy, she lifted her gaze to the moon; not as someone who had cheated death, but as someone who had begun to remember her true purpose.

The forest shivered. The bloodline had awakened.
