The story follows ordinary Houstonians caught in the stampede-nurses, drivers, club kids, hustlers-who discover the truth too late: the cute half isn't a warning; it's the lure. With no moral center and no exploitable weakness, GEMI becomes the city's first true urban slasher engine, a villain big enough to feel like the city needs a superhero to stop him.

The Beasts blended in amongst us as if we were the same, except humans didn't have the same predatory instincts and we couldn't change our forms like they could.
