Nick Hallow always thought he wouldn't make it to 16, but here he was, though still sick and needing to be hooked up to an air tank.
He made it to his birthday, surprisingly, he got to ride a horse for the first time in a really long time, they let him put his air tank in a saddle bag!
He was happy, he was getting better, he even made a friend.
He was hopeful for the first time in eight years.
Until he gets bad again. His friend doesn't visit, at all. He want to give up.
Until a boy comes to the hospital, in the room where he gets his chemotherapy, he gets his stuff for his illness, they talk.
His name is Kasper Jacobson.
He's a kind boy, Nick ends up trying harder, hoping he would get better, and could go out, and be a normal kid.
But the question is, will he get better this time?
