In a world where soulmates are destined-and their birthdates etched onto each other's wrists at sixteen-Jun Jeni was the exception.

While everyone else wore their glowing numbers like badges of fate, her wrists remained empty. By twenty-one, she had given up hope, believing she was cursed to walk alone.

Until one night, everything changes.
First, a set of numbers scorches across her skin.

Then another. And another.

By the time the burning stops, both her wrists are covered. Not with one soulmate's date. Not two. Not three. Seven.
Seven birthdates. Seven soulmates. Seven lives tied to hers.

"I want to know why you do it." "Why I do what." he asked, stripping off his overcoat. He flung it over the back of the couch without much thought as he began unbuttoning his shirt. "Why you always save me. Every time I'm in trouble you always come to my rescue." I blushed as he kept undoing buttons and turned away as he slowly revealed his chest. "Should I not?" He asked in a bored tone. "That's not what I- I'm sorry. I don't mean to sound ungrateful. I just want to know why." I spun around to face him again during my apology and was unable to take my eyes away from him as he peeled his shirt off himself. He was covered in a thin sheen of sweat and my eyes roamed his chest appreciatively. As my eyes drifted lower, I noticed a thick scar course from the left side of his abdomen, across his hip and down before disappearing beneath his waistline. Realizing I was staring, I blinked a couple of times and cleared my throat before looking up again. His dark eyes were already looking at me. "You're important to them." His reasoning made my heart ache. As he turned to head to the bathroom, my next words stopped him in his tracks. "What about you?" He stood there with his back turned to me. Minutes passed, but it felt like hours before he finally turned, casting his beautifully dark gaze on me again. "Am I important to you?" Our eyes never wavered from each other. His heavy bootsteps echoed in the silent room as he stalked towards me. He didn't stop until he stood toe to toe with me. His hand slowly came up to cup my cheek. His eyes dropped down to my lips as his thumb lazily drug across them. His hand traveled to my hair, threading his fingers through the strands before releasing a heavy sigh and meeting my eyes, scorching me with the fire behind them. "There are feelings for you that I wish I didn't have." Cover credit - @escape-from-realitys-stuff

EPHEMERAL _____________________ TBHK/JSHK [ VARIOUS x GN. READER ] EPHEMERAL: „ meaning something that is short lived, such as a lifespan of a living creature or a period of time, like a summer. anything not permanent, or in more poetic words, "everything is temporary". - Raised by a family full of exorcists, (SURNAME) (FORENAME) had grown to know all about supernaturals and apparitions. They grew self aware that there are those who lurk the earth looking like anything besides your average being, people who have the ability to do what the norm cannot, people who others believe should be removed. Those people being exorcists, something they should become. But what if they didn't want to grow up and follow in their bloodline like their sibling had? What if they wanted to live a normal life without the unique vision of seeing what the average citizen cannot? What if they cared not to be dragged into a life involving inhumane beings, and just studied for a job they yearned for, for the rest of their life? Unfortunately, wants cannot always be haves, for this young student at Kamome Gakuen cannot escape the life of a person with seeing eyes. It all started with a school mystery, his assistant, an exorcist, and somebody who wanted nothing to do with the apparition life in the first place. A shame none of them could get what they want. Time is just far too short to let it happen. - - - PUBLISHED ; nov 23 2024 COMPLETED ; n/a STATUS ; ongoing - - - All rights go to the respective owners of the creators of Tbhk/Jshk. - Do not take heavy inspiration. One-hundred patients were given a sixth sense, a somewhat natural ability that came as a codon mutation in your DNA. Only 8 patients survived. In a world where the blood has always been on their hands, they promised to protect each other forever. They live their lives as killers, a group of friends that depend on bloodshed and suffering to remain sane. They tear bodies apart for fun, and torture innocents as a hobby. For eight years, they've lived their life hiding from the authorities and challenged the same government that once murdered everything they loved. No witnesses left alive. That was, until you came. You were like them from the start, with an ability you had no idea you had. But something else about you drew them in, one by one like moths to a flame. ||ATEEZ x Reader|| This story takes place in the apocalyptic future. I do not own ATEEZ nor am I accusing them of any of the acts they portray in this fan fiction. ATEEZ are very caring people and atiny knows this fiction is truly a work of FICTION. ||CONTENT WARNING|| Despite being filled with fluff, this fanfic will have DARK and suggestive themes. Graphic depictions of violence, torture, and other mature themes. Please do NOT read if this makes you uncomfortable. <3
