Elizabeth "Izzy" Parker moves to La Push after the death of her aunt, seeking quiet and a way to grieve. Instead, she stumbles into a storm she never asked for. The quiet seaside town is steeped in secrets, and one of them finds her in the form of Embry Call.
Embry is a Quileute wolf shifter, part of the pack sworn to protect their people from vampires. He's already carrying the weight of his transformation, his loyalty to his brothers, and the scars of growing up without a father. But the moment he meets Izzy, his world fractures - because he imprints on her.
The imprint is supposed to be a gift: an unbreakable bond tying two souls together. To Embry, it's immediate, undeniable. She is his gravity, his anchor, his home. But to Izzy, who doesn't even know the supernatural world exists, the bond feels like chains tightening around her chest.
At first, she resists him at every turn. She doesn't want to belong to anyone. She doesn't want the weight of wolves, of vampires, of a destiny she never chose pressing down on her. She just wants her aunt back, her cabin, her quiet.
But the world won't let her stay untouched.
The more she pushes Embry away, the more the universe pulls them back together - in tense encounters, in shared silences, in unspoken understanding.
