That is what happened to Caleb Dume, otherwise known as Kanan Jarrus. His best friend, a puma named Mietro, manage to escape the destruction of the newfound Empire. Although, a devastating injury befalls Mietro and he takes the name Halftail. They retreat and manage to find two pilots by the name of Hera and Bine.
