On a cool August afternoon, two college freshmen were walking back to their dorm rooms. Becka and Clare were hanging out by the same park where they first met back in fifth grade; they've been friends all the way up to their freshman years. They were hanging out at this park because it was their favorite place, full of happy memories from their childhoods, when the two would get into trouble because of something they both did. It was also where they first witnessed violence in this world. Two homeless people were being beaten by a female cop who was screaming "Stop resisting!" in that somewhat dim voice women can have.

I don't follow orders. If you want a submission mate then go to another girl. I didn't even want a mate nor did I want to be in a situation like this", I growled. "I am your alpha and I am your mate. That's when I see his shadow cast over the ditch...over the place where I tried to hide. "Well," he says with a smile in his voice. "I wonder where he could've gone...the footprints stop here...so I wonder if he just...disappeared?" My body begins to tremble. I can feel it now. The pain. I can feel the pain already. He jumps down into the ditch...he stands directly in front of me, with his back facing me. My hand presses harder against my mouth as I try to suppress my whimper, but it's way too late now. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face.
