Near and Far

23 year old Adele Sommer wants nothing more than to escape her current life. While her parents are multi-billionars in Germany-they're also controlling dicks. Her whole life has been based on making them happy- rather than making herself happy. And the present is no different. Her dreams of becoming a fashion designer are crushed when she's forced to leave Germany after getting accepted at Harvard. Not only that- but despite her lack of interest in romance, her parents are pressuring her to marry an American.

Sergei has many faults and mistakes- but the one he's questioning the most was his idea to live in America. At 18, he joined the military for three years, but after an accident, he returned home to care for his slowly dying father. After the death of his father, he left Russia and moved to America. He had falsely assumed that everything would work itself out, and he would grow to love the land of the free. But he finds himself dreading each and every day. At 24, he still has yet to find his purpose in life. Instead of living the American dream, he's stuck working day after day at a diner he doesn't wish to work at. And even if he wanted to, he doesn't have enough money to move back to Russia. So essentially, he's stuck working his days away.

Two hopeless souls. One struggling to avoid the fate her parents have claimed for her, and find her own happy ending. And the other one is wondering where the hell his happy ending even is.
