after 5 years, oliver had finally returned to karina. but not as the same man he once was; he was fractured, broken down into little pieces of himself which he forced himself to reassemble into someone new. he wanted to tell her all the things he had left unsaid before he left - but deep down, he knew that would only cause her more pain, because he wasn't the same person anymore. he couldn't be if he was running around the city at night as something else.

karina, on the other hand, faced her own troubles within those 5 years. sure, they weren't as bad as what oliver had gone through, but it still made her heart ache everyday. she moved away from starling city, hoping the distance would cure her grief, but it had a funny way of showing itself at the worst times. anytime she would try to loosen the grip oliver's memory had on her, it would tighten itself ten times harder.
