Two friends. Married for legal reasons, forced to be on the same team with their relationship status hidden from everyone. How will it ever pan out? Lauren Dunne is an Undercover Opp for big, Political cases. She is also a single mother that just wants to retire so she can be a Mom to her daughter who has ongoing health issues. Mark Meachum is a Detective for LAPD's Robbery/Homicide Division, also with ongoing health issues. The two met years ago and decided, for the sake of health benefits on Lauren's side for her daughter, that they would get married. The catch, he wanted to make sure that Lauren's daughter was actually doing good and getting better, keeping Mark in their lives but as a Friend-Figure. Nothing more. So while on a task force together, it will take a lot of stress, tension and possible radioactive threats to the World to really make things go BOOM!

Natalie "Nat" Hayes enlisted in the military at 18, where she met Tim Bradford and became his second-in-command. After leaving the Army together in 2007, the two joined the LAPD. Their shared background helped them advance quickly, and during their rookie year they began dating-marrying just two years later. By 2009, Tim had earned his promotion to Training Officer while Natalie was tapped for Detective, fast-tracked into Narcotics, and partnered with her Academy friend, Isabel Blake. But by 2019, everything had changed. Isabel's struggle with addiction began in 2016, and Nat had gone deep undercover in a cartel ring-six months in when a new wave of rookies joined the LAPD. Tim's life continued at the station, while Nat's path pulled her further into the shadows. Disclaimer: I don't own The Rookie-just Natalie "Nat" Hayes and her story.
