Some days, it was hard for Willow Whitlock to not get frustrated with her family. When she wasn't busting her ass at work, Will was running around in circles at home, chasing down a rats nest of children, putting out fire after fire. Mom, still in recovery, could barely manage the baby on her own, let alone her other kids or the litter of cousins abruptly left on their doorstep. Sleep, friendship, and any semblance of fun were concepts long lost to Will's past.

Then, walking home on a chilly October night, Will was abruptly kidnapped in the dark and forced into the trunk of a car. Just as suddenly, the needy faces of her family were replaced by several suffering strangers, and that of a man she could only pray to someday forget.
