His only confidante is a classmate, Leila, who is fighting her own war against a violent home-a mirror of the pain Mark keeps locked inside.
The story begins where it ends: with Mark's death. His parents, cleaning out his room, discover the notebook. As they turn the pages, they are forced to confront the son they never knew and the devastating cost of their emotional absence.
