What they don’t know Is a story of a girl trying to find her way in a world where she feels everyone is against her. She has been searching since seventh grade for a way out, so when she gets a brochure from the office of her small town high school about this fancy boarding school twenty miles away, she jumps on it.
Fending off the peers that are always trying to get in her business and education seem to be taking up most of Joanne’s time at her new school. But she must find it easy enough because she can maintain a ninety five average, while warding off the past, even if the past she is running from will only come back.
This was inspired by the song Concrete Angel.

I never thought my life would be like this; trapped in a dark room and scared for my life. A blindfold was wrapped around my head, covering my eyes, making me completely blind and on high alert. My breathing was ragged and I could smell the mold that was most likely covering most of the room.
