I'm Riley Jameson, and I've been cursed.
The women in my family have been cursed for years to be separated from their true love. For my mom, this meant my dad went off and joined the Air Force. For me, it meant that as soon as my boyfriend Danny uttered the words I love you, the roof blew off our house.
Literally.
A storm slammed our town of Avalon, New Jersey, and now we have to go stay with our Aunt in the middle of nowhere, Everson Falls, while the house gets rebuilt.
I'd do just about anything to break the curse. So when I uncovered old stories about the abandoned amusement park by the lake and how one of the rides will grant a wish if you ride it, I decided I'm going to give it a try, even though it sounds crazy.
The only problem? The boy who has the keys isn't exactly willing to let me hop onboard. Owen Wilder is frustrating, arrogant...and, yeah, annoyingly good looking. He says I have to complete a series of challenges before he'll take me for a ride. He may have the ability to grant my wish and break the curse, but I might just kill him first.
Although I don't want to admit it, as time goes on, I end up seeing a different side of Owen. Every second spent with him is electric, terrifying...and magical. Part of me can't help but catch feelings for him too.
Which makes me wonder. If I do end up breaking the curse, will I go back to Avalon to Danny, or stay in Everson Falls with Owen?
