this is book 4 in the story of the Raven and Viking. this one will be a little more tame in comparison to the last ones. this takes place 5 months after the last story. The Raven has been fulfilling her duties as the angel of death. Death herself. Many lives have been lost throughout this period of time. yet, she's been there for them all. Rather they've been led up to heaven, the cosmos, or the abyss. Even the flame and the fire. This time around, there's a new soul that suffers from tragedy. She finds herself watching for a soul named Brone. A puppet princess suffering throughout all of her life. Being made and exploited for the kingdom to love her mother, Brone has been subjected to suffering and pain throughout all of her life. She has no freedom and no will. All she knows is to dance and sing. And to bleed. Eventually, it starts to take a toll on her body. And she begins to wither away. As time goes on, she gets closer to death.
