Junior year, September 2004.
The world does not revolve around Nikki Santos. When her father left, he didn't say goodbye. When her mother remarried, they to move to her step family's house. Now that she's starting at her stepbrother Theo's school where he's celebrated for just breathing, she wants to make a name for herself. Though, it doesn't help when queen bee Maya Stein tries to make her life a living hell. Not to mention she's Theo's girlfriend.
When their English teacher assigns everyone a pair for a year long project, Nikki and Maya are forced to put their loathing aside to get it done, but will removing the glasses of hatred form a new bond, or damage the old one beyond repair?
