Freen and Becky have been best friends for as long as they can remember. They grew up next door to each other, went to school together, shared almost everything, and became so close that neither of them could imagine life without the other. To Freen, Becky is simply her best friend. The person who always saves her a seat, worries when she gets home late, steals food from her plate, argues with her over stupid things, and somehow always knows when something is wrong. And to Becky? Well... Freen is Freen. Everything between them has always been normal. At least, that's what they thought. Until Heng comes along. When Freen starts spending more time with him, Becky suddenly isn't acting like herself. She's annoyed when his name comes up, finds something wrong with practically everything he does, and seems determined to remind Freen that she doesn't trust him. Becky calls it being protective. Freen isn't so sure. Because best friends are supposed to want each other to be happy... right? So why does Becky look at her differently whenever Heng is around? Why does every conversation about him turn into an argument? And why does the thought of Freen falling in love with someone else seem to bother Becky more than she's willing to admit? Maybe some feelings don't appear overnight. Maybe they've been there all along. Hidden underneath years of friendship, inside jokes, stupid arguments, late-night conversations, and all those little things neither of them ever thought meant anything. Sometimes the hardest person to fall in love with... is the person you've spent your whole life calling your best friend.

Freen Sarocha Chakminha didn't believe in love anymore. Not the kind that stayed. Not the kind that healed. She believed in control, in silence, in the armor she'd built from betrayal and ambition. Love was a transaction. Touch was temporary. And people-people always wanted something. Until the girl showed up at her door. Rain-soaked, trembling, eyes wide with heartbreak and hope. Rebecca Armstrong. Pregnant. Homeless. Carrying the child of Freen's brother-the same brother who vanished with her money and left chaos in his wake. Freen should have turned her away. She almost did. But something in Becky's voice-raw, unfiltered, painfully honest-cut through the walls Freen had spent years fortifying. She let her in. Not just into her house. Into her life. Into the quiet spaces she never let anyone see. And slowly, without permission, Becky began to unravel her. Not with grand gestures. But with soup and silence. With late-night study sessions and soft laughter. With the kind of love that didn't demand-but stayed. This isn't a story about perfect people. It's a story about broken ones who chose each other anyway. About fire inherited not from blood, but from survival. And how sometimes, the coldest hearts burn the brightest-when someone finally sees them.
