The Rookie fanfic, following Nyla Harper in season 7, soon after James was shot. 

With her previous job as an undercover officer, she could not trust anyone. And the one time she did, it was with her case officer, but he took advantage of her. Ever since that day, she never fully let anyone in on her feelings. So after events with James being shot and her incident with Glasser, Nyla was struggling, but she can't open up to anyone. Instead, she bottles up her worries, anxieties and feelings, and puts all her effort in what she does best - her job, and avoids her home life as much as possible. But as it turns out, nothing turns out well from ignoring your feelings, but with her strongly built walls and tendency to shut out others, will anyone notice the signs before she completely shuts down, and can she learn to fully trust others again?
