Vi took a step closer, voice teasing. "Why does it bother you, hmm?" Caitlyn hated how her heart sped up. She looked away, grumbling, "Because... because you're supposed to be loyal to me." Vi's smirk faltered slightly. Caitlyn crossed her arms tighter. "I mean-not that we ever had anything. But still! You-You can't just..." She trailed off, biting her lip. Vi studied her for a long moment. "Caitlyn." Caitlyn refused to meet her gaze. Vi sighed, softer now. "I'm single, okay?" Caitlyn swallowed. Vi hesitated before continuing. "But yeah, I... I do love someone." Caitlyn hiccupped, rubbing at her eyes furiously. Vi reached for her, concerned. "Caitlyn, why are you-" "I knew it!" Caitlyn blurted, voice wobbling. Vi blinked. "Knew what?" Caitlyn sniffled. "You do love someone! And-and now I have to compete with them?" Vi opened her mouth-then shut it, utterly baffled. "I-what?" Caitlyn grabbed Vi's hands. "Just-just love me instead!" ---- Caitlyn Kiramman has everything-fame, fortune, and a career that keeps the world watching. But with the spotlight comes danger, and when a series of anonymous threats escalate, her security team hires Violet, a former underground fighter with a no-nonsense attitude and a past she refuses to talk about. Violet is everything Caitlyn isn't-rough, unpredictable, and infuriatingly stubborn. From their first meeting, sparks fly, but not the good kind. Caitlyn finds her bodyguard impossible, while Violet sees Caitlyn as just another spoiled celebrity. Blood, Sweat, and Tears (and Volleyball)
Modern AU CaitVi (from Arcane) fanfic Caitlyn Kiramman has been playing volleyball since before she could talk. It's her past, present, and future. It's her senior year at Piltover Academy, and she needs to make sure that it's her best. As team captain, she has the opportunity to build a team that will sweep the competition and make her mother proud. She can't afford any distractions. Violet Lane, Vi, is a girl with a chip on her shoulder. There are only two things in life that she cares about: volleyball and her family. She has never been good at making friends, but it will be even harder now that she is being forced to transfer to Piltover Academy for her senior year of high school. Not only will she be the new kid at school, but she will also have to attend a school full of snobby wealthy kids who will look down on her. Caitlyn and Vi are not a good pairing, but their love for their sports has forced them together. Will Caitlyn be able to shape Vi into the player that she needs on her team in order to reach her dream? Could she somehow chip away at the walls that Vi has up? Could it maybe lead to more? The cover was made by my amazing friend @bluestars_art.d on instagram. Everybody wants to be with Violet Lanes. She's got the looks, the body and the willingness to hookup with every girl on campus. She never did relationships, though. Too useless and complicated. But suddenly Caitlyn Kiramman enteres Vi's life and her initial sexual attraction slowly evolves to something more. Something vulnerable and complicated. She has started to like Caitlyn more than she'd actually allow herself to. Disclaimer: I apologise for any possible mistake or inacurrency, since I don't live in the US and don't know how college works back there. I also apologise if anyone does something out of character.
