The Shapes of Shadows

Once, Lucilla lived behind castle walls, dressed in fine gowns of silks and lace, trained only to smile and obey. But captivity shattered that fragile life. Stripped of name, rank, and dignity, she is forced into a world of shadows where survival demands more than grace. To endure, she must embrace a gift as strange as it is dangerous - one that blurs the lines between who she was and who she is becoming.

In the alleys and hidden places of the city, Lucilla will face hunger, betrayal, and enemies who see her as nothing more than a pawn. Yet in the same darkness, she will also find others like her: figures who move between masks and lives, who may be allies... or rivals. And among them, one man stands apart - a figure with eyes like midnight, a sharp mind, and a dangerous philosophy that tempts her to question everything she thought she knew of right and wrong.
