LONG DESCRIPTION
Set primarily in San Diego, 2014-a city that feels as alive and complicated as Jamie herself-this is the story of a neurodivergent woman trying to make sense of her restless mind through the systems she builds to keep it steady. With Baja California just down the coast and scenes unfolding years later in Medellín, Colombia, 2025, the novel moves fluidly across time and place, mirroring Jamie's own non-linear process of understanding.
Jamie is in an open relationship with Jason, who is living temporarily in Cuba, navigating his own path abroad (or getting followed by chickens and dogs with souls). Back home, Jamie finds herself wrestling with a growing crush on her best friend, Nadia-a pursuit that everyone, including Jamie, knows will not end well (or, leave a permanent mark).
At its core, this is a story about the messy realities of love, desire, and identity. It's about what happens when the boundaries we set-between partners, between friends, even between parts of ourselves-start to dissolve. With clarity, humor, and emotional nuance, this novel explores what it means to live authentically in a world that rarely makes space for difference.

After crossing the first phase of love, they now stand at the edge of a new journey-one that will test their hearts and devotion in ways they never imagined.
"Like the moon awaits the sun after a long night, her heart held onto his light through every shadow and silence."
