The Xavier Institute in its earliest days is not yet the grand sanctuary it will one day become. In 1979, it is still little more than a dream taking root in old stone walls. Charles Xavier has devoted himself to shaping it into a true home for young mutants and alongside him, at least for now, stands Erik Lehnsherr, trying his best to fit into this life of calm evenings and teaching-duty.

Into this precarious balance Charles introduces a stranger: a woman whose task is, on paper, simple-serve as the Institute's quiet safeguard, a watchful shield against the dangers that lurk beyond its gates - but soon enough she finds herself between the troubled minds of teenagers and more maddening still, torn between two men, catching both Charles and Erik's eye.

Caught between their gazes and her own guarded heart, she must navigate not only the political storms that threaten the school, but the draw of two men who cannot help but be drawn to her.
