Maddie is a 17 year old teen, about to enter her junior year of high school. Unlike other stories, she doesn't view her sibling as a demon, but as her best friend. 

During her birthday weekend, Maddie and her older brother, James, go to San Diego for Comic Con, her favorite convention.

Everything goes well, and they have the best time of their lives..... that is until the night before they go home. 

James dies in a car accident.
