As if chasing after an idol debut on a K-pop survival show wasn't enough stress, 18-year-old trainee Chai now has to deal with the mortifying ordeal of an unreciprocated crush on the swoon-worthy, highest-ranking contestant, Park Jiwoon. He could get over it, too, if Jiwoon would stop trying to become close friends. And if the producers stopped pushing their bromance storyline. And if his poor heart could stop sledgehammering his ribcage every time Jiwoon as much as smiles in Chai's direction.

But Wei Wuxian knows him as a thirty three year old closetted gay man who couldn't get into a relationship because of family constraints. He respects him as a peer and often shares his life struggles with him. Lan Zhan adores being treated as an adult for the first time in his life. They decide to keep their friendship platonic and virtual so as not to corrupt it. What will happen when on the first day of college Lan Zhan finds Wei Wuxian as his Chemistry professor?
