She was only 6 months when her mother died, and her father disappeared making her an orphan. It was one late night where Brooklyn was just a baby in her crib, she was visited by a man in black with yellow eyes. She started to whimper, which alerted the mother who grabbed her gun.
Stacey ran In Attempting to kill the creature that was in her daughter's nursery. Once she made it in all was heard was her scream waking up Nicolas to see his wife on the ceiling dead and then a fire started up.
Nicolas quickly grabbed Brooklyn and ran outside as the fire engulfed the house. Not long after, Ellen ran over in fear of her sister and brother-in-law. It absolutely broke her heart that her sister was killed, and her brother-in-law left poor little Brooklyn alone. Ellen took in Addison and raised her as her own daughter and even went far enough to adopt her.
Years later, it was revealed that Nicolas Brooklyn's father was presumably killed by the same demon he tried to hunt when she was only 10 years old. Ellen had hoped that the demon would be killed for tearing apart Brooklyn's life.
But in Brooklyn's eyes, Ellen and William were her family, her mom and dad. So, when William died in a hunt, she and her cousin Jo were in shock after Ellen tearfully explained to the girls. Jo cried while Brooklyn made a vow to become a hunter like her parents.
