Elizabeth "Liz" Wells is by all definition a wonderkid in the world of soccer.

Member of the US U17 team at the age of fourteen, and winning the U20 World Cup at just sixteen. Then, just under a year later, received her first start on the senior team just a week after her seventeenth birthday. At the same time, Arsenal had extended the offer of bringing her in on a contract.

Her future was falling into place, allowing her to finally ease the financial pressure her soccer career has placed on her mother. Everything seemed to be going her way.

That was until everything goes wrong in an instant.

Will she be able to bounce back and reach the dream she has long wished for?

Lara Wells has never been the loud one. For six years, she's quietly held her place at London City Lionesses, loyal, reliable, and unnoticed beyond the pitch. She's the player you forget to interview but always want on your team. When her younger sister Phoebe convinces her to start a podcast "for fun," Lara expects it to flop after two episodes. Instead, Between the Lines becomes a surprise hit, part football chat, part sisterly chaos. But one offhand comment about elderly people playing walking football spirals into something bigger than either of them imagined. Soon Lara's organising her own "Walking League," a community project for older players at Hayes Lane. What starts as a joke turns into a movement, drawing laughter, crowds, and eventually, the attention of football's brightest star: Alexia Putellas. Lara doesn't expect Alexia to show up at her session, or to bring her mother along to play. She definitely doesn't expect to end up working with her. But as the two women build something new together, Lara starts to realise that maybe her story, on and off the pitch, is only just beginning. A love story about legacy, quiet ambition, and finding connection at your own pace. 08.03.1995
