Sebastian Sallow remembers very little of his life.

The Second Wizarding War. A mission that couldn't have gone worse and ended up with him being captured and tortured by Voldemort's people, barely escaping with his life.

Three years later, the almost-former Auror is now a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. The ghosts of the past still haunt him, but he has managed to build a quiet life and redeem himself for a past he still cannot face.

A surprise visit is what forces Sallow to confront all the demons he's kept buried, dragging him back into the black hole he never truly escaped, and making him question whether it's even worth pretending to live a life that was never his.

Harry Potter and Charles Alderon, the man who once saw more potential in Sebastian than anyone else, now need his help to stand against the Legacy, a group born in the aftermath of Voldemort's fall.
