When Jack left the New York City PD to join the Amity Island Police Department in 1972, she thought she was walking away from bureaucracy-ridden chaos. Instead, she found a home - the steady rhythm of the sea, family close by, and a chance to finally prove herself as worthy of following in her uncle's footsteps as a police officer.
But the summer of '74 shatters that peace. A string of shark attacks rattles the community before the pique of the summer season, and Jack is pulled into the center of the storm - torn between protecting her young cousins, supporting her uncle - Police Chief Martin Brody, and confronting the doubts of a town that still struggles to take her and her uncle seriously.
As Amity spirals between denial and desperation, Jack's path collides with three men: her overburdened uncle, a hard-bitten fisherman, and a sharp-tongued oceanographer who challenges her as much as he understands her.

"Michael," I yell, pulling on his arm, "you gotta get up, ok?" Reluctantly, he begins to run with me into the Forrest. I pull him quickly as he recovers from the fall, despite feeling drowsy from the chloroform. The man must have recovered by now and chances are he's gaining on us at lightning speed. I feel Michael catch himself under his feet and speed up having recovered from the fall. He looks to me, "Split up?" I nod knowing exactly what he's thinking. There's only one of him and two of us, he can't take us both out. Just as we approach the lake, we split, confusing the man. He had stopped and was watching us both run away, probably evaluating which one of us he had a better chance with. I turn back to look where I'm going when I hear a loud bang. I scream. Pain flares up in my lower leg as though something bit me. The bullet ripped through my leg but stopped as I clearly have no exit wound. Expecting the man to have almost caught up with me, I look up only to see his back as he runs after Michael. *** 18 year old Blaze is kidnapped and taken from her home town along with her best friend Michael. When she gets there she easily assumes what they could want from her. Drugs, sex, money? But what if, it's something more? Something that never crossed Blaze's mind? When Blaze's past catches up with her how will she react to the old faces on new people? and when her two lives cross, will she be able to save the ones she loves, or will they end up like everyone else she cared about? 17. That's how old I am today. It's about time too. I was getting sick of being 16. I hear a low rumble being emitted from my chest. I run towards the woods before the change takes over my body. As soon as I get to the woods near the lake I have come to know and love, ducks are floating in the middle looking for something to eat. I quickly strip down to only my sports braw and shorts, when and excrutiating paing takes over my body and I fall to the ground. My legs were the first to change. The bones snap and change shape for the first time. I scream out in pain as hair starts to grown eerywhere. The rest of my body is snapping and changing shape. My arms were the next to change... I seriously felt like dying. The pain of every first change is unbearable. Thankfully it all soon stops and I am standing on all fours. I walk towards the lake noticing that the ducks that used to be there were long gone. I must have scared them.
