I heard slow footsteps approaching. Soon, a pair of black shoes stopped in front of me.
I slowly looked up and met the devil himself.
His face was completely emotionless, and I gulped nervously while staring into his cold eyes. He stepped closer, and before I could react, his fist slammed into my face.
I didn't even see him move.
Pain shot through my cheek instantly as tears rolled down my face. I stared at him in shock, my body trembling.
"Next time you utter my name," he muttered coldly, "you'll end up in a hospital."
Then he walked away without another glance.
I collapsed onto the floor, my entire body aching.
I didn't understand why Ryan hated me so much. I had never done anything to him, yet he always found ways to make me feel small and worthless.
All I wanted was a peaceful life.
