Alternates are a rare phenomenon in which a demon in Hell will mock the appearance of a human on Earth.
After an Angel (named Denis) halts a demon's plan to murder two small children, the demon (named Nanael) enacts revenge by becoming Denis' alternate and tormenting him and his friends for life.
How will they stop him, and who will they form an alliance with to do so?

A new angel is sent to monitor the humans and report back to Heaven as a replacement for Aziraphale. Despite pretending so well, and doing such a good job of fitting in with the humans for quite awhile now, she slips up, and reveals her identity when she senses such an immense amount of love in someone that she just can't believe it. "You are so loved!" She shouts at the person she feels this from, before running away stuck in her jealousy. This left Aziraphale to ponder why there was another angel on Earth, but he figures it out quickly. What he does have trouble with, is figuring out who in his 6,000 years could have loved him so much that it throws off an angel in disguise. Which is Crowley's cue to panic. Warning: they're both dumbasses. Also, lots of fluff. Oops! I accidentally summoned a demon! When a crazy man threatens her family if she doesn't kill the man holding them all hostage, Eve comes up with her own plan to keep her family safe. What she doesn't expect is that her sacrifice is only the beginning. Update: This began as a #WITWContest challenge, but became a mild obsession as I fell in love with it. It's still a one-shot but is now a not-so-short short-story with all the answers to the questions you had when reading that first chapter. How did she get there? Where did he take her?
