She made friends from other Clans, and grew very, very close to a cat from GrassClan. She was abandoned as a kit in AutumnClan territory. She had no family and she was younger than the other kits, so she was made an apprentice later. She is confused about this, and was suckled by Flowerpaw and Firepaw's mother, so she at first thought she was their sister. She was alone, with no one to talk to, no one to praise her, but her other friends from different Clans.

Dawnkit is born into SunClan with a bright future, along with her littermates she wants nothing more than to serve her Clan. However, tragedy strikes at a young age when her sister, Willowkit dies. Dawnkit makes a promise to her dying sister to become leader of SunClan, no matter what but as she grows she learns that becoming leader isn't easy, and it may not be what she wants. As a warrior, she learns that a dangerous foe is threatening her Clan, and she realizes she must do everything she can to protect the Clan she loves.

You saw what she did to that warrior. You know that she is capable of killing, if she wanted to. And she’s only been an apprentice for half a moon,” Cedarstar meowed. Darkstar sighed, and dipped his head to his ancestors. “I will do my best to protect the Clans.”
