In a remote, snowbound town, survival comes at a chilling cost. Each year, the townsfolk offer their purest of heart to two enigmatic beings who dwell high in the mountains-creatures of power and hunger, whose favor ensures the villagers live another year.

Shy and unassuming, a young man finds himself caught in this cruel tradition, his petite frame and gentle spirit marking him as the next sacrifice. But the mountains hold more than just death. Two extraordinary beings-the tall, cunning vampire bat with a fascination for humanity, and the formidable, wolf-like vampire whose strength is matched only by his loyalty-cross his path.
