They say the cave is a place of shadows--of illusions that we think are real. My "cave" was a friendship that turned into something more, at least for me. I didn't plan to fall in love, but somewhere between our late-night talks and shared laughter, I realized I had. For a while, though it felt endless, I stayed there--in that dim light of hope--believing that maybe one day, he would see me the same way.
