Y/n L/n wants nothing to do with super-heroes. Unfortunately, that's the current obsession of the local newspaper she works for. After a near-death experience where she is saved by New York's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, her boss is inspired to cook up the mission of her nightmares: Project Damsel in Distress. The pitch is simple: get into trouble so she'll be saved by Spider-Man, and use that opportunity to gather scoop for their next headline.

It's just her luck--now every day is spent throwing herself in the most ridiculous (not to mention dangerous) situations just to get the attention of the web-slinging hero. Y/n's dull life slowly begins to transform with the imperilments of her job, along with managing her family's financial difficulties and growing feelings for her cute new neighbor, Peter.
