"Good, you're awake. I was afraid your soul wouldn't remember."
I turned quickly and stumbled backwards. Falling onto the ground, blood drained from my face as I finally observed the deep, fleshy scars that ran all over my naked legs.
But I didn't have time to think about that, as before me, a boy stood with an innocent smile. From his body, a dim blue light radiated. His irises faded in the light of his own light. He wore clothes made of a shade of blue slightly darker than his light. In the light of the setting sun, his presence didn't cast a shadow. He was absolutely stunning to behold. But by far the craziest- and I couldn't believe that would be possible- were the enormous wings that moved ever so slightly in the soft breeze.
"My name is Icarus," the boy said, crossing his arms. "And you, Xaeyon, you need to listen very, very carefully."
