Ks was born as a son of unknown strayers. He ended up in a controversial wandering orphanage, who would do anything to survive in harsh ways of nature. Although those abandoned younglings' actions are not always understood, little Ks becomes a skilled and promising student worthy of a more dignified livelihood than being a thief and pest.

Sienzuel, on the other hand, was lucky enough to grow up in a prosperous clan. However, her life is complicated by a congenital defect that prevents her from flying - her wings are stunted. Her prospects for the future are therefore uncertain - in order to remain a full clan member after reaching adulthood, she must obtain the title of a sentinel. With her condition, this may be too difficult to achieve, and since she has not shown any talent as a lightbearer, the unpleasant question of whether she will be able to defend her place in the society hangs over her head.

Who would have thought that these different paths of two young lives would one day come together in a bond of friendship? Will they succeed in standing up for themselves and defending their social status?
