In the crowded, shadowed streets of Khlong Toei district in Bangkok, Lingling, a young woman from Kalasin, forms a fragile, secret bond with Sua, a mysterious sex worker with a past she keeps hidden. Amid cheap meals, stolen kisses, and whispered confessions, their love grows quietly in the corners of a brothel, a fragile sanctuary against the harsh realities outside. But when a sudden police crackdown tears through their world, Lingling is forced to confront the impermanence of the only home and heart she has ever known. In the aftermath, she is left with the memory of a love intensely lived and abruptly lost. This is a story traced in fleeting touches, lingering scents, and the haunting echo of a name. Trigger Warning and Author's Note: Mature themes such as sex and violence, though glazed over, are being mentioned. Please proceed with caution. If you are a minor, this work is probably not for you. While this story mentions real locations and circumstances, it is a work of fiction and a piece of artistic expression. All events, characters, and situations are imagined, and the author takes full responsibility for the content. This story does not intend to promote, endorse, or condone the exploitation of women, police violence, or any illegal activity. It does not intend to disrespect any characters or real people referenced. It is purely a narrative exploration and should be read as such. Much thanks to Mello for the invaluable input and feedback on the initial version of this work.

Have you ever heard of a friendship crush? That strange feeling that lingers between admiration and love. It's not just wanting to be friends, but it's not quite something you can name, either. Just a quiet pull to get closer, to understand someone more deeply, without a clear reason why. Orm felt that for Lingling, a girl always within sight, yet never truly part of her world. They weren't friends, merely two people who knew each other from afar. And yet, for reasons she couldn't explain, Orm wanted to know her more. But the courage never came. Until graduation separated them, and that feeling slipped away, unspoken, unresolved. Then, fate brought them back together. In a foreign city, far from home. Under the sky of Melbourne, Orm, a student on exchange, searching for a place to stay and Lingling, offered her a place in her own home. What should've been ordinary turned complicated. There were tremors that shouldn't be there, emotions they couldn't control. And when their time was up, they returned to being strangers. But fate, it seemed, wasn't quite finished with them. Years later, they met again. This time, in Tokyo. Orm thought the feeling had died. But it hadn't. It had only been asleep-now awake, stronger, clearer, and far more painful.
