Adrian's eyes narrowed, but he didn't interrupt.
"I can offer you money," the demon said simply. "Resources. Soldiers. A demon army, if you wish. Enough to aid you in capturing every last fallen angel that walks this earth."
Adrian's breath caught. "And in return?"
The demon's gaze shifted to me. His black eyes lingered, burning through me until my skin crawled. He smiled, slow and deliberate.
