Song of Alandra (Crucible of Heaven)

She always avoided standing out before, but when young Alandra is thrust into the middle of the war to purge the Urth of magic she can't hide her special gifts any longer. As the political attacks of the Purge turn into genocide of healers, sorcerors and any possessed of Elanic gleam, the great Web of Indra is weakened and torn. The use of even the simplest magic becomes impossible and the natural protections of the Wyrd disappear, leaving the innocent, the Elvren and wyrdbeasts exposed and vulnerable to the Crosstian crusades.

In this clash of ages Alandra discovers her strange talent will play a crucial role. Why and how to use it though, and even what she is, remains hidden. Only by uncovering the mystery of her birth can she make a difference against the storm that threatens to destroy her future and even reshape her past.
