It was Zack's own fault for complaining to his younger sister about the novel she wrote. As a result, he found himself trapped in the body of the male lead he despised so much.

Two reasons fueled his loathing:

First, the male lead's indecisiveness and lack of backbone, blindly agreeing to an engagement arranged by his parents without a second thought.
