Skyforge Chronicles: The First Ascent

Tassa Nyelle Brinley of Hollow Drift chooses to face that challenge anyway. Against her grandmother's wishes, she volunteers for Skyforge Academy-a brutal mountain fortress where cadets are forged into riders, or broken trying.

The trials begin with the climb, but that's only the first step. At Skyforge, cadets face brutal combat courses, impossible aerial war games, and the blood-oathed rituals of the Winged Sigils. Rivalries burn hot, secrets twist tighter, and even the gods seem to demand sacrifice before granting a rider their Pegasus.

Tassa's only ally is Sybilla Elowren, a timid girl whose brilliant brother, Lieutenant Solen, makes it clear that weakness has no place within Skyforge's walls. But as the shadows of rebellion rise and the name Vaelric whispers through the stormveil, Tassa learns that the Academy's greatest enemy may not be outside its gates-
...it may be within them.
