Her breath hitched as the flames surged in her palms, crackling with untamed energy. Her fingers twitched as though they ached to let loose. But I wasn't done.
Slowly, I reached out and took her hands, without pausing to think about the damage her fire could do to me. The instant my skin met hers, a shock ran through my body and my element surged through me without warning. Ice surged from my veins, creeping over my forearms, sliding down to meet her flames. Steam hissed where our elements collided, twirling in the air between us in a slow, mesmerizing dance.
