Friends to the end?

Olive has been friends with Matt since 1st grade
They've done everything together. They've been through everything together, from Matt's first lacrosse game to Olive dealing with her mother's death but there's one thing Matt can't help her with, she has breast cancer. He doesn't know she doesn't know how to tell him. She only had about a year left. It's already gone to stage 4. There's nothing she can do. So instead of telling right away she does whatever she can to be near him all day everyday. And what hurts more is the fact that she's gonna die before she can tell him she's in love with him. But it's fine right? Because inevitably they'll be friends to the end.

Matt knows something is wrong with olive. He can see it in her eyes every time they talk about college or the future in general. She gets this look in her eye like she's gonna break. He has tried talking to her about it, asked her what was wrong but she always says she's fine, just tired. He also notices how much closer that she's gotten not that he minds although the closer she gets the harder it gets to hold in his feelings for her. He hates that she might be hiding something but he understands that she might need time. Little does he know how much time she has. But hey it's fine right? As they always promised, they'll be friends to the end...right?
