"It's hurt for seventy-nine years, twenty-nine thousand one hundred fifty-one days, six hundred ninety-nine thousand hours, and forty-one million seconds. It won't ever stop hurting." Olivia Taylor has been alive for eight hundred years, protecting humanity and sacrificing eternity to keep the human race alive. Her partner, Greyson Macabee, was exiled from her seventy-nine years ago. The thought of living was so overwhelming to her that she lost her immortality and planned to wait for death to reach her. Except, there's one tiny flaw in her plan: Two guys have teleported her back to a town she and Greyson founded in eighteen fifty-six. It seems that crossing the town boarder has returned Olivia back to her immortal self. Reunited with her friends and back in Hale could be the thing to push her over the edge or pull her far away from it. Secrets will be revealed, enemies will resurface, and Olivia's strength without Greyson will be tested.

"You are safe." She paused for a moment, her gaze fixed to the wall in front of her. "But you're not free." AFTER LILY JONES LOSES EVERYTHING she holds dear, she does everything in her power to forget her pain. She breaks all ties and moves across the country. But when she is forcefully taken to Evergreen, a breathtaking but mysterious mansion where she is ordered to work as a maid for its equally enigmatic inhabitants, she is robbed of the only thing she had left: her freedom. There, she encounters two groups of people. Those who, like herself, have been ripped of their independence and forced into servitude, and their young, rich and austere captors, the Evergreen people. As she gets familiar with life in her peculiar prison, memories that she kept buried try to resurface and she starts to suspect that the secrets kept within the walls of Evergreen might be more unnatural and dangerous than she could ever imagine. Will she be able to save herself and her new family from the storm that threatens to break on Evergreen or will her repressed guilt and fears cause her to lose the people she cares about once again?
