Somewhere in the country of Orinthal raced a car across the wet road, tyres slipping and spluttering mud everywhere. "I am going to die." Simon yelled as he gripped the seatbelt. "You are not going to die." Kai muttered under her breath as she battled with the steering wheel. "I am going to die because of you!" "I think that concussion has flipped the logic in your brain." "You crashed my wedding!" Simon yelped as a bullet pierced through the leather of headrest, a mere few inches from his own head. "I did not crash. Our mom invited me. YOU invited me, remember?" "Sorry if I cannot remember my mistake when there are hitmen chasing us and trying to kill me." "You won't die." "How do you know that?!" "Because I will slit their throats before they even touch you."

Rain was a vampire hunter, consumed by a mission to kill and avenge her parents' deaths. She had a best friend named Pattie, who was completely unaware of the existence of vampires. Rain was secretly in love with Pattie, terrified to confess her feelings. All she wanted was to protect Pattie from everything - not just vampires, but also the bullies who targeted her. Rain wiped the sweat from her brow, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Her body screamed for a rest, but her mind pushed relentlessly onward. She finally switched off the exercise equipment, her muscles burning. Maya approached, concern etched on her face. "Can you give yourself a break? You're sweating a lot," she said gently. Rain shot her a glare. "Mind your own business," she snapped, her voice tight with suppressed anxiety. Her phone rang, the caller ID showing an UNKNOWN NUMBER. She answered with a bored sigh. "Hello? Who's this?" she asked, her tone sharp. "I wanted to have a little fun with you, Rain," a man's voice purred, laced with a chilling amusement. "Yeah? Listen, I don't have time for your little games. Don't bother me," Rain replied, annoyance simmering in her voice. "Let's see if you can save your best friend... you only have one hour left," the man chuckled, his voice dripping with menace. "Who are you?" Rain demanded, her voice rising in alarm. "Guess who?" the man replied sarcastically, then abruptly hung up. Rain's eyes widened in recognition. She knew that voice. "Liam?" she whispered, a cold dread gripping her heart. She frantically dialed Pattie's number, but it went straight to voicemail. She tried repeatedly, her anxiety escalating with each unanswered call.
