Failed by the justice system, forensic psychologist KUROKI RIN tries to uncover the motives behind her mother's murder. She works tirelessly, besotted in her studies of the human mind, desperately seeking answers the police had failed to give her. 

Fascinated by her motivations and fortitude, SUNATO BANDA proposes an alliance. He realises her intelligence can be of great use, and knows just how to burrow himself in the forefront of her mind. 

At each other's throats, the unlikely pair venture through a world unknown, putting their lives at risk in deadly games to obtain the necessary information for their personal goals. 

But when the competition wears off, RIN and BANDA realise they're more alike than they'd once believed, like two halves of the same whole. 

Will they get their happy ending? Or will a foundation constructed by deceit and betrayal crumble their shared sanctuary of respair?
