They move forward believing they choose, yet they only follow a path already laid out. They think they control their fate, blind to the stage built around them. An illusion of freedom. They live out stories that mask their deepest fears. Without conflict, without a mask, they fade away.

Some ignore the truth. Others fear it. Most would rather sleep. And then there is the one who watches. Who never intervenes. Who only understands.

This is no place for the naïve. Here, excellence is nothing but the façade of an experiment. Every gesture is data. Every silence, an unspoken command. The rules are never voiced, yet they weigh heavier than steel. Obedience is the only escape.

This is not a school. It is a board. And they, pieces who have yet to realize it. Each imagines themselves the protagonist, blind to the invisible script they perform. The goal is not to teach them how to think, but how to function. To fit. To obey without knowing it. Emotion is a flaw. Empathy, a crack. Individuality, a threat.

The true challenge is not winning, but not losing yourself. For where perfection exists, shadows linger. And within every structure, a fracture.

The cycle begins again. The same game. New masks. Only the one who listens to silence... understands.

Note:
The characters may appear OOC (Out of Character) depending on the reader's perspective. This is because they have been thrust into a new setting, under different rules, and confronted with situations never present in their original stories. Nevertheless, every effort has been made to preserve their core essence-their principles, mindset, and behavioral patterns-even when faced with a reality that demands different responses. This is a reinterpretation, not a betrayal of who they are.

All characters and concepts belong to their respective authors and creators. This work is a fan-made project, written with the utmost respect for the originals, and created with no intent of profit.

The Cage That Taught Me to Fly (COTE Fanfic) by Zorcates
15 parts Ongoing
Ever since I was born, the moment my eyes first opened, the first thing I saw was white-every corner, all of it white. I was inside a cage-built from control, expectations, and brutality. This cage shaped me. A masterpiece. A ruthless person. The best. But one thought always crossed my mind: why white? White symbolizes liberty, freedom. The more I grew in that place, the more my mind gave me strength to fly, even while trapped inside. The white cage gave me yearning and strength to fly. Years later, I was given liberty from that cage for three years. But I realized liberty alone isn't enough to make me fly. So I let myself be captured once again. There's a saying: the more you yearn, the more difficult it becomes to achieve. By choosing to return to the cage, I was handed another chance to fly-one I no longer believed in. But this time, it wasn't liberty they offered me-it was freedom. Yet there's no such thing as freedom. It was nothing but an illusion. They gave me independence in my actions, but only within limits. They named it freedom, but in truth, it was only a cage without bars-where I could move as I pleased, yet always be steered to where they wanted me to be. That's what they offered me. A false freedom, one where I can do whatever I want so long as I remain bound to them. And so, how will this new life of mine play out...
