Madeline has always had feelings for Calix; love letters, gifts, confessions, teasing, passing hints, but Calix doesn't return the favor. He simply just doesn't feel the things Madeline does; He likes someone else. Even though his annoyance of Madeline's presence is obvious, and the public humiliation he gives her every time she confesses her feelings towards him, she just keeps going. Still hoping Calix will love her back.The someone Calix likes? Madeline's best friend.

On valentine's day, Madeline confesses again. Only to find Calix, saying the words "Will you be my girlfriend?". Romantic, right? But those words weren't for Madeline, it was for her best friend.

This leaves Madeline's heart broken into a million pieces, like glass shattering. She can't take it; she turns and quickly runs, avoiding any further drama. Her best friend tries to chase her, her friend refused because she already likes someone. And it's not Calix. But it's too late, Madeline's nowhere to be found after she exited through the main entrance.

After that, Madeline doesn't show up to school, doesn't update on her socials, and completely ghosts everyone she cares for; family, friends, and yes, even Calix.

Then.. tragedy struck. Madeline was found at an alley at the back of her apartment building. She had jumped from the fourth floor.

When Calix gets the news from Madeline's loved one's, he's stunned. Then he reaches for the letter Madeline wrote before the incident.

"Dear Calix,
You don't love me, and you're probably annoyed by me so i'll just make this short. I love you, i love you, and I love you. You make my heart beat every time I think of you. But you don't love me back and that's okay. Who am I to control your feelings?

I've decided to take my life, so there won't be any one in this world who's annoying you or begging you to love them. I'm not mad for you loving my best friend or for the public humiliation, it's all okay.
